Areas within 30 min from airport for 80k?
Are there any decent areas where you can buy a decent small home for 80k or less the wouldn't be farther than a 30min commute from the airport?

Try the northern panhandle of West Virginia or eastern Ohio, which is only 30 - 60 minutes from the airport. Maybe northern Beaver County. The western Allegheny County area is hot with new development and prices are rising. Maybe one of the older river towns in Allegheny County, like Coraopolis may still have less expensive real estate.

I would agree with northern Beaver, though even there I don't think you'd get much of a house for $80K.

Check out towns like Oakdale, Imperial, Moon, Coraopolis. I looked on Realtor.com and found a few charming homes in your price range. Look carefully though, there are a few dumps!
My favorite in the search was: Single Family Home - Oakdale, PA, 15071 - Realtor.com
Not sure why the price is so low, but it definitely was not in the flood!

Many place in Beaver County fit: Ambridge (ZIP 15003) would be the closest, you can get a nice brick house for that; BadeN (ZIP 15005), Conway (15027) Monaca (15061). What other requirements do you have?

Maybe the older part of Hopewell. All of those blocks between Broadhead and Maratta Roads are smallish houses that shouldn't be more than 80k. Monaca and Rochester might be decent places to look too. I lived in New Sewickley Township on top of the hill from Freedom. It was 16 miles and roughly 30-35 minutes for me to get to work at the airport. Conway would be slightly closer. I wouldn't be too thrilled about Ambridge unless you don't ever plan on sending kids to school, and then look way on top of the hill.
East Liverpool, Ohio just isn't worth living in. There are closer, better choices. Chester, West Virginia would be one of the choices, or maybe even Washington County heading towards Burgettestown. The major problem with East Liverpool, and West Virginia is the lousy road. Routes 30 and 18 are the only two ways to get to the airport. They are narrow, windy, hilly, and dangerous. If you get stuck behind a semi, you are screwed. There is absolutely no place to pass. All of the trucks on those roads really scare me. I make it a point to avoid them. My buddy owned a house on 30. He ended up with at least two trucks a year laying on their sides in his front yard.
East Palestine, Ohio is pushing the 30 minute limit. On a Sunday morning with no traffic, and catching the lights in Chippewa all green, it can be done. It is definitely a much nicer ride though.
There are plenty of choices. We would need more details about your requirements.
City or Country dweller? Kids or not? Land or no land? Shopper, drinker, shooter, gardener? Bike rider? Lay about? Need a place to buy crack? You get the idea. Those would all be factors on where to buy.

I would have suggested Hopewell, too - that's where I live and I like it. However, even the older part of Hopewell has crept up,and finding a house in teh 80 range is not so easy.
I still think Ambridge is a good value for the money. And they have all new schools, including the senior high, which opened this January.
