Do consider the Pennsylvanian. It is a bit out of your price range, but if you can deal with a studio, you can get one for around $1000 (according to their website). Their website shows a beautiful pool, and a very well equipped gym.

It is close to the train station, and just a short walk to the heart of the Cultural District - Penn Avenue between 10th street and 6th Street, where there are a lot of restaurants, and some very nicely dressed, cool people, ice cream, and the arts galore.
I don't see a pool?

I used to live there and I don't recall one. It was a wonderful view and very high ceilings.

Sorry, must have confused it with another (Washington Plaza?).

I haven't lived at the Pennsylvanian, but might consider it since I fell in love with its through online perusal. I've been in the ground floor, and was able to speak once i got my jaw off of the floor. I always loved that building.

Yes, Washington Plaza, or as it is now known, City View, does have a pool. I understand that a lot of students live there.

If I worked Downtown, and was still single, I would consider the Pennsylvanian, it looks really nice. The only thing I know for sure, though, is that it is well-situated for people who are separating from their spouses; known of two such recent situations personally.
