Feed off the cincy market? Each city you listed doesnt even really consider cincy or worry whats going on there.

Talking Buffalo!

I think that Pittsburgh has a big-city feel without being overwhelming. I wouldn't want to live in NYC or any other large cities where it would take me 45 minutes to get from place to place. In my opinion, Pittsburgh is underrated.
Hi, I'm from the suburbs of Buffalo and I can answer questions about living in Pittsburgh because I live here now!
I really like it, it's very similar to Buffalo, just with a LOT less snow! *smile*

No, 7 million is correct for the 22 county region of NEO. The point is that there are a large number of people within 2 hours drive. Pittsburgh isn't in the middle of nowhere in terms of population. You take the MSAs of Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Morgantown, Wheeling, Steubenville, and Pittsburgh and you have close to 4.5 million people. Cleveland adds another 2 million on its own.

The Cleveburgh corridor is still packed with people. And NEO plus Western PA (I-79 corridor) will get you easily over 10 million.

Perhaps everyone would learn something from this thread:

What is "the middle of nowhere" to you?

I'll be 38 this June....

You are very (judge)mental. You are only as old as you feel, and some of us don't have a yard or mortgage to worry about.

Not quite, but almost.

22 counties in NE Ohio = 4,471,603
26 counties in W PA = 3,882,813
4 counties in N WV = 137,386

Add those up and you get slightly under 8.5 million. (2003 Estimates)

That includes Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Akron, Erie, Youngstown, Canton, Altoona, Warren, Wheeling, Johnstown, New Castle and Steubenville.

WONDERUFL CLIPS!

Do you have any coming through the tunnel at night. That's what I recommend to my friends/business colleauges coming in from out of town.

Other views that are wonderful are from the West End, Mt. Washington, and from a shopping center in Kennedy Twp (sorry I can't be more specific than that. )

One of the things great about our Town is that we have the city proper AND then 30 minutes or less you are in farm land. Seriously, I buy fresh beef from a farm 45 north of here and fresh chickens about 20 minutes north. Both fully functioning farms.

There were a couple on youtube for night time shots, but they are not professionally done and they do not capture the alure of the city at night.
I've never been able to figure out why the city of Pittsburgh doesn't hire an advertising / production company to capture the moment you go through the tunnel. It's better than any amusement park ride. It's like a birth cannel or seeing god.... LOL

I live north of the city, Mercer County, and actually go out of my way every time I go to Pittsburgh(Usually every other weekend)to be able to come through the Ft. Pitt tunnel. It's a magnificent view!!! Also, going south on I279, the Parkway North, isn't too bad of a view coming in either. Once you round that last ridge the whole downtown skyline comes into view.
They really should hire a professional to capture the city driving in from both routes. Although, nothing beats the Ft. Pitt.
