Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe as a compromise they just moved the Dog Park further into Olympia Park.

Dog friendly.. Well I see many people walking their dogs around my neighborhood. No one seems to complain. And lots of happy dogs the way it looks to me... But I am like on the outskirts of the county in Brackenridge..

olympia park off leash dog park is open again. I drive by it pretty much daily and have seen lots of people with their dogs enjoying the area the past couple days.

So yes, for the OP, mt washington could be a good fit for you. You can find sub 100k homes on occasion and there are lots of dog owners in the area.

Someone posted on Nextdoor that there's a group of people in Brighton Heights working to establish an off leash dog park in the area. There's certainly no shortage of dog walkers here, so I think they have a good chance of being successful.

None of the responsibility? Not sure I understand what responsibilities you think are taken away by taking your dog to the park to have a run and get some socialization with other dogs.

Sorry. I didn't express that as clearly or completely as I might have.

I don't have a dog now. But if there were a dog park across the street from where I live, I could play with the dogs who go there (fun and socialization for us both), yet not have to feed them or take them to the vet (the responsibility part). When I used to visit friends in West Philadelphia, I used to walk down the street two blocks to Clark Park, a.k.a. Bark Park, anytime I wanted a canine fix (proximity to Penn's Vet School makes that part of town one of the dog-friendliest neighborhoods in the country). I've never lived as close to a dog park in Pgh, unfortunately.

Ahhh gotcha.

Well you could always volunteer to walk dogs for the human society. They always need help. Of course not so nice and convenient as a dog park across the street either.
