LOL.... No need that school is the Pitts now. Schenley may be closed down for good now. They may be moving to the old Reiznstein Middle School (another one of my old Schools) in the fall.

So tell Me Mr Davon24,
How do you feel about Schenley being moved within 12 blocks of two other High Schools (Westinghouse/Peabody)? Would you send your kids there? I'm glad that my son was the last class to graduate from the REAL Schenley. Which reminds me why all of the fuss about the asbestos? It was there when I was there (82') and no one even mentioned it, but now it cost 30 million to remove? Smells like Pitt needs office space again!

public magnet schools???
okay so the wealth of info seems to be concerning the suburban schools. I know pitt public aren't mt leb or fox chapel or usc when it comes to test scores, but I gotta tell you I have serious reservations about sending my kids to a school that's over 95% white- and we're white. Especially considering our income would limit us to sharpsburg and subject them to a school career saturated with an inferiority complex from being the "river rat." Pittsburgh Public seems to have a really far reaching and well perfoming magnet program. Why isn't anyone talking about these schools? They're still part of Pittsburgh Public and are doing good work.

The real problem is that the majority of new and older residents move outside of the city limits and therefore send their kids to non-city schools. You see it is just a matter of numbers, once the city/government decided on closing many of the projects and scattering the residents all over the surrounding areas the schools in the city were forced to close

Where does Pennsylvania post its school rankings that they do for the 'No Child Left Behind' Act? I can't seem to find it anywhere on the web.

There's no Winkies in Wilmerding and there is no Wilmerding School District, it's part of East Allegheny.

Rankings of schools with PSSA test Scores
I thought I remember seeing a link somewhere in these messages where you could compare PSSA test scores for western PA Schools by district / high school/ middle school.
For example, you could specifically select Fox Chapel middle school & do a side-by-side comparison to Mars middle school. It would give a break down (%) for the test scores for reading & math. It would break it down my male vs. female; student to teacher ratio; ethnic group by % within the school, etc.
