Since it's summer, I'm starting to get requests from friends and family who are coming to/passing through Pittsburgh and want me to show them around. I've got my usual go-to things that I do with visitors, and I like to think I've seen the sights in my years here, but there are still things in town I haven't done or seen yet.

Including:
- Cathedral of Learning
- Just Ducky/Gateway Clipper
- Mattress Factory
- Steelers game (I've been to a Pens game, but not at Consol)
- Rivers Casino
- Maxo Vanka murals

What are yours?

If you're going to the Cathedral of Learning, make sure you also walk across the lawn and check out Heinz Chapel. If you ask nicely, they might play the pipe organ for you...it's pretty awesome.

There's a bunch of stuff I want to do once my son gets a little older. Definitely a Ducky tour, and the Heinz History Center as well. Expanding to a regional scope, I'd also really like to go to Meadowcroft Rock Shelter. I've also never been to PNC Park. I hate baseball, but I'd like to go sometime just to see it.

segway tour
Riverhounds game (only local sports team I have not seen!)

You can get the same sensation from taking a regular elevator while really drunk. Not the same view, though.

Another regional thing, but I've never been to Fallingwater (or the lesser known Kentuck Knob). Most of my friends who have arrived here from other countries go to Fallingwater within their first few months of living here.

Closer to the city, I've never seen the Vanka murals and I'd love to explore Hays woods sometime.

If they are flatlanders, it's always fun to take a drive down Billy Buck Hill in the Southside, or drive UP Potomac and Canton in the South Hills. Andy Warhol's grave is a unique stop if you are near 88 and Connor Road.

Being a Washington County guy, I'll recommend Sarris Candies in Canonsburg and the Trolley Museum in Washington. There are covered bridges in Mingo Park and elsewhere in the county if you are looking to get out of the city and into a more bucolic setting for an afternoon.

Lastly if young kids are involved, it may be worth a trip out to Ligonier for Idlewild Park.

I haven't been in Heinz Hall yet, or at the Benedum (I was in the building however when it was the Stanley).

I'd also like to get a chance to see a game at the new baseball stadium.
