I doubt Cranberry would have this problem.

Nice and quiet out here for sure. No festivals cancelled.

You guys will whine and moan to high heaven whenever anyone says anything about Cranberry that conflicts your "party line", yet you continue to interject mention of your community into threads that have NOTHING to do with Cranberry. What's your agenda? People will forget about Cranberry if you'll just let them stick to what's relevant... my suspicion is that you (and several other posters I need not mention) just love the attention, even if it's negative.

Pretty sure Goinback doesn't live in Cranberry. The attention you bring, however negative it is, gets people to look into our great area of Cranberry. More the merrier, we say.

I don't live in Cranberry.

The irrational hatred comes from those who refuse to see the negatives of living in the city and the positives of living in the burbs. And this despite the fact that 87 percent of people in the Pittsburgh MSA live outside the city limits.

The Catholic Churches are cash strapped because of the horrendous way they acted back in the 80's which unnecessarily led to the additional death of tens of thousands of AIDS victims, the way they (and the German pontiff) covered up rampant child abuse, and how they engaged in ostentatious and prolifigate spending - remember the Gucci shoes? If the church wants to be relevant and more financially sound, they should concentrate more on the pulpit and tending to the spiritual and practical needs of their herd than engaging in disruptive large scale gambling festivals and gimmicks that put the community's safety and public resources at risk. No entity should be allowed to hold large scale events in high crime areas without the necessary resources to police these events on their own dime.

The Catholic Church has sponsored local festivals for many, many decades and maybe centuries.

And many times they have been in "high crime" areas, and have been conducted without serious incident.

BTW, no one was seriously injured in Carrick, there were no arrests, no murders and no robberies reported.

What aids or child molestation scandals has to do with parish festivals, you got me lost on this.

We'll see what happens next weekend at the scheduled festival at St. Raphael's in Morningside.

^ This is also why a city with just ~300,000 people has some of the nation's worst gridlock.

Ridiculous assertion. I live outside Pittsburgh, but closer to Carrick than you and most other posters here. I live about a mile from the Carrick border and 2.5 miles from the church in question.

I don't drive in the city much, certainly not on a regular basis. But you do and you live in the city. Who's part of the gridlock?
