These are the main gangz of pittsburgh, within each neighborhood, there are cliques and groupz with their on namez usually their street namez combined with their gang, but they still claim allegiance to the general gang.

Examples:
M.O.B.z, Flame Gang, V-click. . .etc- East Hills- Bloodz

That guy was pretty much correct, sure he didn't recognize every set of the cripz, the Trey 8's, LPGs G's, Goons, Fulton Block Boyz, or Eastwood Boys but he mentioned all the major Pittsburgh gangs that claim turf in more than one neighborhood...
The only incorrect affiliated set are HoodTown (HoodTown Mafia), which is NOT a part of the crips and it's its own type of gang. HoodTown is a portion of Central Northside north of Jasksonia St, west of Federal St... Also So Icey Boyz are from East Liberty north of the Blvd... And for the record there are more that 3 crip hoods on the Southside (Beltzhoover, Knoxville, Allentown, Arlington, the 6buildings left in Arlington Heights & Carrick). Yet as I said that poster did a really good job

There are 7 buildings left in Arlington. (LOL!) Also, Darkside, (SCV) always claimed Crip as well, despite wearing black.

True, but the City shut St Clair Village down... I think the Darccide Crips have possibly relocated to Carrick and possibly some got jumped into Knoxville since the gang related shootings in Beltzhoover, Knoxville & Allentown over the summer were linked to the old feuds between SCV & South Zhoove.

If you believe the bull**** spouted by most people on C-D, I'm sure they're glad to be rid of you as well.

I felt safe throughout my entire stay in Pittsburgh and am coming back soon. I'm looking at Pitt for graduate schooling.

Semi-automatic weapons? Hell, my parents here in Kentucky have several. They're not hard to get your hands on. If you want to experience real gangs, move to Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, etc.

Agreed. As far as mid-sized cities go, Pittsburgh's crime rate is definitely on the lower side. If you go into bad neighborhoods looking for trouble, chances are you're going to find it. But if you stick with the right crowd and exercise some semblance of common sense, I don't see how living in the 'Burgh can possibly be an issue. Even if you're working class/working poor, there are plenty of safe, affordable neighborhoods to choose from. FWIW, last year's Morgan Quitno reports ranked Pittsburgh safer than Houston, Columbus, Miami, Tacoma, Nashville, and Albuquerque, among other cities reasonable people generally don't consider crime-ridden.

Probably something having to do with how massive and sprawling the city is.
