Carson St at those hours is mostly full of kids from the suburbs coming in for the Southside Experience. The locals aren't driving, and they aren't out on Saturday at 1:00 AM.

Doesn't matter who it is, where they came from, or where they're going...drunk driving is still drunk driving.

Agreed. Drunk driving seems to be considered acceptable among suburbanites here, and they don't give themselves many options when they build places like McCandless Crossing or Rick's in Murrysville.

WTF??? What an inane generalization.

And what about the option of not drinking? How are the builders of McCandless Crossing responsible for that?

Meh. That 20-year-old who got stoned and drunk and then drove his Mustang into that 6-year-old girl in Shaler was from Millvale, which I'd barely qualify as being "suburban".

Shaler and Millvale are both suburbs.

I see a lot of casual acceptance of drinking and driving in places where walking to a bar is not an option.

Different types of 'burbs, though. You need a car to live in Shaler. In Millvale you could easily step out your front door at 10 PM on a Friday night and get plastered at a bar less than 10 minutes walking distance away. Same with other "dense" suburbs like Dormont or Sharpsburg.

True. That kid was too young to be drinking though. They need to figure out who was supplying him with alcohol and throw that person in jail too.

Hopefully they bring one or something similar to Cranberry. The old echo restaurant location would be a great spot.
