Smile best school district for special needs child

We are relocating from Georgia and have a special needs child. What school district would be best for us? Money is a factor and we have to find a place under $130k. We would be ok in the city or suburbs. Any help would be appreciated. Right now she is still young and attending an early intervention school that we have to pay for. Are there any services available to young special needs children in PA?

I don't know as much about schools for special needs, but my husband works at a church that has programs for special needs kids--Southminster Presbyterian in Mt. Lebanon, and Mt. Lebanon has excellent schools in it.

Thanks Windwalker - I'll look up that area.It most likely will take forever to sell our home here so I have time. We hope to be able to visit soon and look around.

My mother is a special needs educator. Your best bet is to contact the Allegheny Intermediate Unit which handles special education in the county. They could advise you on what programs are available. Generally speaking, the wealthier suburbs are your best bet - Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon, Wexford, Peters Township.
