These big concerts are good for Pittsburgh, in general. A lot of big acts skip over Pittsburgh, which is a bad thing. Bad for image, bad for quality of life. In this case it just happens to be a country concert, which attracts 2 types that cause problems 1) redneck drunks 2) young opportunists who see it as an opportunity to blend in with said rednecks and get drunk off their asses.

Still, if you don't like it, avoid it. If the city was smart they'd throw an extra buck or two tax on the tickets and it would more than pay for all the cleanup.

People drank to excess before the Rolling Stones and you didn't see this type of scene.

Maybe not at the recent Rolling Stones concert in Pittsburgh, but in other cities they've had even worse scenes.

Pretty sure the Stones stopped hiring Hell Angels to handle security 45 years ago.

Exactly Altamont was over 45 years ago. It was also a free concert with 300,000 people and the ridiculous concept of Hell's Angel's as "security."

That's because half the people there were in wheelchairs. These country artists, and I use that term loosely, attract a much younger demographic. It's not even just rednecks it's people that like to binge drink and make arses of themselves in general. The last U2 concert although it didn't sell out is a good example. What a great crowd that concert had.

Pretty sure the U2 demographic is closer to the Stones than KC, and certainly not the amount of people before, during, and after the event in attendance.

Apparently not.

If a rap concert had the same issues, it wouldn't be coming back. But drunk white people causing trouble boils down to 'good ole fashion young folks having a good time'.

Please.

haha, if any of this stuff happened during or after a rap concert, the city would call in the National Guard! Puhleeze, 6 people got too stoned at the Wiz Khalifa show and it was front page news for weeks.

So the media would have you believe. Total BS, but agendas seem to gain great steam on the web. These days I think if it was a rap concert, no one would say anything because it wouldn't be politically correct.
