I never tried CiCi's pies, I can't say how they taste.

Just commenting it looked pretty good on TV.

SCR-figured you would appreciate these:

A Cleveland-based grilled cheese and craft beer restaurant chain is scoping out the Pittsburgh market. Melt Bar & Grilled, which will open its seventh eatery in Akron, Ohio, in March, has Pittsburgh on its radar, owner Matt Fish told the Columbus Business First, a sister publication.

Once $4 artisanal toast came on the scene, it was only natural that artisanal grilled cheese would follow. I like a good grilled cheese as much as anyone, but I'm not paying $7 for two slices of bread and some melted cheese (and their cheese selection seems uninspired). These guys also feature a $15 cheesesteak and a $15 meatball sub. No thanks, I'll take Big Jim's for half the price. Although I'd probably pay $15 for this bacon orgasm.

With the success of the Meatball Emporio, I think it's only a matter of time for my long-awaited dream of a meatloaf-only restaurant to reach Pittsburgh.

Last time I went to Emporio, the meatballs weren't so hot. Literally. Not-quite-room temperature. If I hadn't been as hungry as I was, I'd've sent them back.

Meatloaf only? I'd try that. Especially if the mashed potatoes and green beans are estimable. To make good meatloaf, you start with a panade. I think the reason most people go "Ewww...meatloaf" is that their mother didn't make it with a panade. I wonder whether the Chicago place uses oval plates from Fiesta. That would look so good.

The Whole Foods where I used to live had a grilled cheese bar in the cheese department. They had a nice variety of grilled cheeses, which were made to order. Do the Whole Foods around here have the same set up?

Not on a regular basis. I think there's a guy who makes grilled cheese once a week. However, you can get a good grilled cheese at Nu in Squirrel Hill (deli, but obviously not kosher). It's usually on the specials board.
