Glad to hear your recovery is going well, By-Tor. Don't let the moving stress you out...that's a nice place. Love the wood floors.

Yeah, the hardwood floors were definitely a selling point for me, as was the backyard and the kitchen space. I think our agent believed we were insane, going after the first one we looked at after starting our search again, but over the past year and a half, i think we've seen enough housing to know what we're looking for, and this one just jumped out at us!!!!

Arrow Re-posting for those who are Relocating here.....

Over the last year, as we weighed moving to Pittsburgh from New York, we started this thread, asking bout the neighborhoods, housing, crime, etc... the people were all very helpful, and I thought I'd repost the thread for those who are now just relocating here, so that they can see the pictures, read the ideas and, hopefully, find it as helpful as we did!

Good Luck to all you new 'Burghers!--Holla', if you have any questions!!!

Default Two More Days!!!!

So, it's only two more days until we close on the new house (pictured below)!... I'm totally stoked about it, and in planting roots here in Pittsburgh, we're kind of making a statement of conidence, in the future of the region.

We won't "officially" move until mid-March, but the time between now & then will be spent packing & transporting smaller boxes and items, so that we won't have to spend so much on movers...

Which begs the question: Does anyone know any good local moving companies which charge LOWER than $90 and hour for 2 people and a truck?"

If anyone has a line on something cheaper with a good service record, please let me know.... the more money I save on the moving, the more I have to put towards beer, once we have the move-in party that you'll be invited to!!!!!

Alas, no. I'm moving in a few weeks too, and plan to do what I've always done - hire my friends to help me, and pay them in beer and food at the end of the day
