Major Renovations Begin At Ligonier

I can't believe this is finally happening. Laurel Mountain Ski has some of the best terrain in the Mid Atlantic, and I'm so excited to ski there again. Big win for skiers if western PA.

I only skied there a couple of times after it initially reopened. Nice terrain. Hopefully, they actually follow through with the plan.

Interesting. I know nothing about that place. Seems Nuttings have a complete monopoly in our region when it comes to skiing. Overall, they are doing a good job at Seven Springs, IMHO. The only complaint I would have is to have the Gunnar lift open as much as possible.

Thanks for this information. I will have to get by there someday.

I still am hoping for the great Western expansion by the Gunnar lift. I'm not holding my breath though

As long as this is closer to Ligonier and Johnstown I don't care. And right off Route 30 too. Somerset and the turnpike have never been appealing to me. The less time I have to spend on the turnpike the better.

Pretty much what was said. Seven Springs is a higher summit, MUCH larger resort acreage wise, has more trails, many more lifts, a much larger lift capacity, has an advanced terrain park system (best on the east coast), and it had night skiing. Laurel Mountain has a higher base elevation and vertical drop (which is huge), a better expert run, it has a longer trail, and more snowfall.

Overall, Seven Springs is a larger resort, but Laurel Mountain will be pretty sick as a second option.

Awesome! Hopefully the lift tickets are adjusted accordingly.
