p.s. I am thinking of talking to the landlord next month about leaving early. I have to save enough to get into a better building. And if that means making a double deposit because of my not so hot credit...I want to be prepared to plunk it down.

I've lived in the Flats and the Southside works and now live downtown in a condo. I've never heard a peep either place. I must be fortunate! LOL. Although, in the condo I do have a lot of "city noise" outside, like trucks, and ambulances, and police cars, and honks, and screeching tires. To be perfectly honest, I don't hear it anymore at all.
