Any new info in this? No suspects as far as I've heard.

Apparently it occurred at a 7 year old's birthday party which takes a special kind of sick person to gun down people at.

Copied and pasted from another thread. Seems more appropriate to post it here.

Is is just my imagination or has there been a spate of mass shootings such as this in the Pittsburgh area in recent years? This is very troubling.

From the reports I've read and heard in the news the victims didn't even have any weapons or attempt to fight back. One has to wonder if this was a gang attack on the wrong people or property?

Is there a link that should be added to this?

Tumf, the poster had earlier commented on an older and more general thread, "Wilkinsburg might be the worst place ever," but copied that comment to this more specifically-related thread. No link required!

Re: OP, yes, it's awful, and the news story makes it sound like an ambush (two shooters at different locations.) My uninformed guess is that it was targeted and personal. Maybe somebody's ex-girlfriend was a target? 4/5 dead were women....

Yeah, I guess it is best this has its own thread, since so many died. One of the victims was pregnant, so that means there was another life lost. The warm weather always gets the guns going in several Pittsburgh area neighborhoods. Being a cyclist riding around the city, I was hoping for at least another month of quiet, but now it is time to really have your guard cranked way up and be ready for anything.

Two victims are still in critical condition, so the death toll may rise even higher. This was really planned pretty well for mass destruction with a shooter creating panic and people running out the back door towards the other shooter armed with an assault rifle. Summertime in the Burgh and we all know this is just the beginning of the warm weather fun. Ugh!

Never heard of this here but out west, this is typical international gang/drug behavior. Watched an old neighborhood go bad until I moved out. No rules, no remorse, no conscience, and no fear of the police. I will be surprised if this isn't a drug turf spat.

Will anyone spill the beans to police on who the shooters were, or will they follow the street rules and keep quiet, like they usually do because they fear being shot themselves? It is an interesting puzzle.

"I don't normally call when I hear one or two shots. But this was different. There were 2-3 single shots fired and then a series of bursts in which 5-6 shots came together as if from an automatic rifle," said Ms. Dexheimer, who lives across an alley that runs behind the Franklin Avenue scene of the shooting.

Something about this quote is pretty disturbing.
