shame on them for letting round 2 happen.
I know funds arent indispensable, but bike shops make a killing if they care to. And they could have at least come up with a few deterrent measures.

I was in Sq. Hill this morning and saw the windows. They have a bike rack pulled up to one side and there's wood in a lower spot where a window once was.

I imagine that some deterrents take longer than others to implement - pull down cage over windows, bars that slide across from inside. I would hope that this time they at least had some cameras up. I'd have one facing the street and one right inside. Pretty brazen to hit the shop a second time within a day to two.

Don't have a link yet, but Dirty Harry's in Verona was robbed again last night. Guess they need to hire an armed guard these days. They don't even have time to get more security measures in place, when you get robbed that many times that fast. Pretty crazy out there I guess.

If these people want to add me to their business owners insurance and pay me a reasonable rate, I'll post up overnight in their shops with a pellet gun and fat can of mace.

Dirty Harry's

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?sto...d=339465100209

Pittsburgh Pro got hit twice as well.

Brother, you make it sound simple to stop it, but they have a board on the glass right now to stop entry. These shops probably can't afford some armed guard every night until they put bars on all their windows, which seems to be what they need to do these days. Kind of sad.

This actually isn't very true. The markup on bikes isn't that much. Most bike shops are either side businesses owned by people with money or other high paying jobs that are passionate about bikes or they are owned by people who work their butts off and are passionate about bikes.

Don't blame the victims.

No.

Thanks for posting the video. Don't know if that will help catch anyone or not. Sort of amazing someone can break into a business in the middle of Squirrel Hill's business district and simply ride off with no one around at all. There should be more video from other places in that area. It amazes me that Dirty Harry's in Verona could get hit twice, but their business district isn't very big and you can duck in an alley pretty fast. Guess certain people want a "fat bike". They gotta get theirs.
