Whether this is fair or not is up for debate. But believe it or not, in other NHL cities, a lot of viewers/fans of the game appreciate and respect players that compete physically, with toughness and no-holds-barred attitudes. Hitting has been an important part of the game for many years, and tradition dies hard in sports.
This is nothing new. It's gone on all the way back to the Lemieux days. Goes on in every sport with most all teams that have a star player/s on the verge of winning a championship.

Even the opposing players are whining.

Tomas Hertl is missing game 3 for the Sharks tonight. Huge loss for them. It would be like losing someone from the HBK line for the pens.

Lots of hockey left. Anyone can still win. It will be tough for the Penguins this next game even though the Penguins are outplaying the Sharks in every single aspect of the game, anyone can still win. It would be amazing if the Sharks could win, but the Stanley Cup is hard to win no matter what. Even if you are way better than the opposing team and that is the case here. The Pens really are WAY better, but still it is anyone's game.

It is beyond great waking up on a Tuesday morning knowing the Penguins own a 3-1 series lead on the way to a fourth Stanley Cup championship. I hope Game 5 will leave Pittsburgh with Pittsburgh and Stanley Cup golds.

Definitely don't want to go back to San Jose. As much as they are outplaying them, you don't want to give them a spark. Teams do come back from down 3-1.
