There are 5 Mexicans on my roof!!!

Time to move outta here and head to Cranberry, no green cards allowed there.Actually, not sure if they are Mexican, definitely Hispanic and working their butts off. I guess it’s true that the Town of McCandless is on the cutting edge when it comes to diversity.

Is this too non-PC? Haven't had an infraction in years.

Get into the contracting business. Pay your illegal labor half of legal workers. Charge your customers the same as before. Watch the income inequality grow in your favor.

It all starts with letting illegals in. Gotta fix one problem and you won't have another.

Yes, I can talk as I am an immigrant, but I also lived in NY for over 20 years. The hispanic population was huge there. Some schools had "spanish alley" where you could not go down if you were not hispanic. The kids would brag that they don't need drivers licenses or insurance to drive.
I would not like to see that situation here.

I don't know about "PC", but this thread is definitely proof that the yinzer mentality has migrated out to the burbs. Fortunately this isn't your grandpappy's Pittsburgh anymore. As a counterbalance, it should be pointed out that most people I know down here in the city are very welcoming of Latino people.

Right on! I'm glad to hear that. That's the kind of sentiment I can get behind.

Yeah. I didn't see anything in this thread to the contrary, however.

Well, if I was of Latino descent, and I read a comment about the "Hispanic pop." increasing in the Burgh suburbs, I might be encouraged... until I clicked the link and saw a crack about green cards, as if every person of the Latino ethnicity is automatically suspect of not being a US citizen. And of course this brought up talk of "illegals"... naturally (in your eyes, I presume, because you used the term).

And then I continued down-thread and read a response talking about the dangers of "Spanish Alley" and how that person didn't want that "situation here" (I'm presuming she meant South Fayette)... I probably wouldn't see it as very welcoming.

Of course, I wouldn't expect you to demonstrate that level of empathy, so I'm not surprised you didn't notice.
