It never takes me five hours to reach Toronto. I go quite often. It is usually just over 4 or so.

One of my VERY favorite things about Pittsburgh is how centrally located it is to a huge plethora of cities. In fact, I'm not sure another city exists in the USA that is so in-between such a selection of major cities as Pittsburgh.

For example, it takes less than 8 hours (most are far less) to reach any of these cities: Toronto, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Indianapolis, Chicago, Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Buffalo, and New York City. I have taken weekend trips to most of those cities and more than once. It's a lot of fun.

The only city that could theoretically be slightly beyond 8 hours is Chicago, and only if you drive the speed limit diligently.

I also really love having Niagara Falls and Cedar Point nearby, both are easy weekend trips.
