Thanks for the detailed update. I knew Mount Washington has had a lot of infill detached-single family housing. Probably the most in the city over the last 10 years (though South Side and perhaps Lawrenceville have had more single-family housing built if townhouses are included). I was thinking about One Grandview as the project that NIMBYs had defeated.

Regarding the land bankers sitting on vacant lots, my understanding is that the major land bankers up there tend to buy homes, leave them vacant until they are unsafe, and then use that as an excuse to demolish them. Which is ridiculous, given there's no amount of structural damage which couldn't be dealt with in a profitable manner when you're considering the price premium the views bring.

What's the current status in the property (if there's any at all) since I saw someone new did purchase it a few months ago

I read the list of variances asked for in the weekly zoning board reports fairly religiously now to keep up on new projects. I've seen nothing about it, which is odd. Maybe they aren't asking for any variances.

None, went to auction a while back and it's got signs up for "Great development opportunity!"

Truly, the site should probably be a hotel at best, condos at worst, or a mixed development in the middle (please for the love of God no more retail). If I had the capital I'd make it happen. Anyone have tens of millions of dollars they want to lend me?
