I grew up around Johnstown eating Tastykake pies. I've bought them online and I've bought them when visiting Central PA. I've never looked for them around Pittsburgh. I'll be down in Elizabeth, PA later this week and I notice there is a Giant Eagle store. What are the chances I could find some yummy Tastykake pies there?

In my experience, you'll have better luck at Sheetz and Getgo than at a Giant Eagle, assuming you're talking specifically about the pies and not their other offerings. Good luck to you, and feel free to share the details of your haul on here, because I'm curious!

Thanks. And just to be clear, I'm not looking for the generic "pies" that are sold in some places but the "real" Tastykakes that you can get online. But I appreciate your suggestion and will try some convenience stores or gas stations if the supermarkets don't have them.

They do carry Tastykake Brand Pies at the Elizabeth, PA, Giant Eagle. I just called and asked. You can, too. 412-388-3884.

Tastykake stuff is common in the Pittsburgh area. Won't be hard to find.

Tastykake is out of Philly so I would think their products would be available anywhere in Pennsy. I live in Northern Va. and my local supermarket carries Tastykake. That company has been around a long time.

Does your store carry cakes and pies?
