A couple of the neighbors forced him to shut him down because it caused them a minor inconvenience (one neighbor didn't like the lights in their dining room window & one didn't like the flow of traffic)

Since he was forced to shut it down, he has done this to get back at them.. They destroyed his lively-hood so he is destroying their property values in return..

(IMO both sides are in the wrong & brought it upon themselves by refusing to compromise)

I remember that display and I thought it was a wonderful thing to see. It is a shame it had to end but this behavior is petty. I wonder if he's still doing it... Here is a more recent video from ABC on this.

Edit: Also apparently back in February there was a new complaint with him.

Sounds like the neighbors in the movie Christmas Vacation.

Having grown up around Indiana, I do recommend a day trip there for anyone that hasn’t been there. Philadelphia Street (the main drag) is very much intact, is full of businesses and restaurants, and just has that all-American feel to it. It is especially nice during the holiday and of course Indiana County is also the Christmas Tree Capital of the World.

Also on that list is Smicksburg, which is another great destination. It’s a nice little artists area with a dash of Amish.

Not sure how many are willing to go as far as Indiana, but if you do, you may as well go to the Blue Spruce Festival of Lights.

If you're in the South Hills, there is an area of Pleasant Hills and/or West Mifflin right off of Rt 51 as you head toward Century III mall where there are some elaborate displays. It's on the left side of the highway as you head southward. I believe the street you turn is Glenburn Dr. If it's dark out, just look left as you head south on 51 and you'll see it.
