When's the last time an Uber headline didn't have an article that boiled down to "********* don't think any rules apply to them" anyway?

Uber now owns a large tract of land in the strip where the RR trestle is. I used to ride and walk through there along the river and a few weeks back was barred by private security from the trail. I no longer use Uber.

The trail has been closed to allow for the reconstruction of drainage ditches as part of the master redevelopment plan. I've seen nothing to indicate that the trail won't reopen again at some point.

But haven't you heard? If a company becomes successful, they are the enemy. It sure is strange how that seems to be the way it is in spoiled US of A these days.

gg, no, Uber's corporate culture is actually toxic. Maybe you aren't paying attention lately? Rampant sexism, racism, infighting among management, on and on and on. I realize you love to trot this one out as frequent as possible, but maybe do a little research on what's going on first.

How Uber Could End Up As Silicon Valley's Most Spectacular Crash

BTW - they are still bleeding about $3 billion a year, hardly "successful" yet. Just well-funded.

Rampant? Keep in mind, they have LOTS of enemies. I have seen videos just like everyone, including the CEO's video when a driver went off on him. It is just another overhyped story just like ALL stories on the media area. It is what it is ALL about and everything is picked to outrage everyone so they can sell advertising. I do plenty of research and feel it is most people who are NOT doing enough real digging. I don't care for Uber in the least, but most everything is way overblown. What else is new?

Obviously you haven't read the acccounts of the very real and reliable employees that have come out and told their stories....if you think that it is overhyped then I don't know what to tell you. Hopefully it doesn't permeate into the culture of the ATC but even without these stories i think their project had a small chance of succeeding.

This may be true but this land is now owned by Uber. I talked to the guard, he told us nobody is permitted to use that section of trail and directed us up 3 blocks or so to the next access point.

I only would understand statistics. You need to provide them. So out of all the employees how many have had bad experiences? How does that percentage compare to other companies? When Uber lowered their pay, it seems there were a lot more issues. I don't fall for the garbage people fall for. You might be correct in what you say, but a few bad stories out of really a huge amount of employees aren't nearly enough for someone like me. You keep falling for the media, I will only understand statistics because numbers are the only REAL thing we have left. You do know Uber is a huge international company, right? I think they have over 6,000 employees that aren't even drivers. Imagine adding drivers.
