I think with your budget you will have an easier time finding a home in Lebo than just about anywhere else. My thinking is that you will easily come to the realization that you are not getting your dream home for 225 in Lebo. So, you won't be nearly as picky and you will have a ton of options. Most of my friends that live there love it.

We have boys (8 and 9), so we may be slightly different, but yes most kids do a ton of activities. That is how it is these days. And yes a lot of moms drive SUVs and wear lululemon.

As far a stay at home moms, I think it is hit or miss. Sometimes, you don't even know if a parent works or not because lots of people have flex schedules, work from home or work part time.

I'm a proponent of living in the city, but for that money you admittedly don't have a lot of great options.

Maybe look into Sharpsburg, you can get a lot of house for your money and it's Fox Chapel school district.

Mt. Lebanon is yes to the above. Not at all crunchy. Just moderate Dems/Republicans. It's become somewhat uppity since I moved there. The property taxes are obscene. Commission and school board love to spend money. They hate deer there. Not much respect for wildlife. I would rather choose Dormont. Also walkable and the T is more convenient. $200s won't get you much in Mt Lebanon but will go a long long way in Dormont. Feel free to send me a message if you want more opinions. Good luck

Zoom in and you can see the more walkable areas in green.

By about a hundred bucks, which would you choose? I've lived in all those areas except Wilkinsburg. Liked them all, Pitcairn the most walkable, houses just too damn close. Happy in the Great White North with my people, BDWGs.

Perhaps but you ain't getting much of anything in the 200's in Lebo. Plus the snotty uppity reputation. You can have it.

OP, I stand by my earlier comments regarding the desirability of Lebo and by those of a few other posters who well articulated the many positives of the Mt. Lebanon community.

I do not agree with the remarks regarding snobbishness etc..... Do those of you who have tarred the community, actually live there and participate in the social, school, athletic and other community activities? Are you active and contributing members of the area? I do not live in the neighborhood, but have a long history of hanging out and socializing with friends and neighbors of multiple relatives who have lived there for over 40 years, and I now have daughters with young children living there. There is indeed a civic pride that exists, but I have never sensed or observed noses in the air.

Also, contrary to some beliefs, there is economic diversity in Mt. Lebanon.

Good luck with your relocation and at the risk of being redundant, your questions ( regarding the community and Mt Lebo as a fit based on your criteria,) were well answered by those who shared the many positives that seem to dovetail with your desires.

Best regards for a happy, healthy and successful relocation.
