Murrysville to Irwin (Westmoreland Co.) area
We're looking to buy a house somewhat 'convenient' to West Mifflin and Monroeville (where we both have jobs) and are considering Westmoreland Co., but don't know too much about the area.
We thought anywhere between Murrysville and Irwin would be acceptable driving distances to our jobs.
Our last kid is a high school senior, so school district isn't important. We would like a house with some 'space' around it, and we do like the country. We're looking in the $150,000-$200,000 range.

The three school districts that you may be dealing with in that area would be Norwin, Franklin Regional, and Penn-Trafford. All three are plenty respectable but Franklin Regional (Murrsyville) is easily the most superior.
I would look into Murrysville (Franklin Regional) and North Huntingdon (Norwin) first and foremost. They are the nicest options in that area, although I hear Penn Township is growing like mad with BEAUTIFUL homes. I haven't seen it with my own eyes yet, and they would attend Penn-Trafford.

Have you considered Level Green?

Thanks for your replies!
We just started looking. As long as the commute to Monroeville and West Mifflin isn't too long, anywhere in Westmoreland is open. It takes me 15 min. and my husband 45 min. from Penn Hills, so we'd like to stay within those parameters (although it would be nice to be within 30 min. for both of us).
We have a double lot on 1 1/3 acres (yes, in Penn Hills), so we like a house with space. And our house is a 70 yr. old Cape Cod with 'character', so we're not looking for cookie-cutter suburban. Just something with some trees and land to put a pool onto, with a fireplace and a covered porch. We have it all now (except for the covered porch).
I will check into Level Green. I guess the best bet would be to take a ride out to these areas and look around.
