Seeking Blue Hole
I used to go to a swimming hole southeast of Pittsburgh some 30-35 years ago. We called it Blue Hole. I remember it was isolated with a railroad running close by. Does this ring a bell with anyone. I would love to visit again this summer. Directions would be appreciated.

Haven't been there yet, but I heard its neat!
Here is a great site outlining all the parks in Forbes State Forest, of which Blue Hole Division is one:
Forbes State Forest Hiking Trails
Click on the Blue Hole Division Trail System link to see the guide.

Blue Hole in Perryopolis Pennsylvania sounds like what your looking for. You have to walk down railroad tracks to get to the swimming hole and theres a waterfall to jump off of. The locals there are a little weird but you can still have a good time.

Blue Hole, Perryopolis, PA
Sounds like a place in southwestern PA near Perryopolis. Went there when I was younger and had a great time. If you go on Google Earth and search on "Blue Hole, Perryopolis, PA" it will bring up the location with a photograph.

I heard that the Blue Hole in Perryoplis, PA was very, very deep, and was curious as to how deep it was. I had several several people tell me that it was almost as deep as the ocean. I cannot believe that!!! Can someone clarify on how deep it really is. Also, just what is the Blue Hole??

I was so excited when I read this thread. I went to a great place 30 years ago. I never knew the name of it. Unfortunately, I googled an image search for "blue hole forbes state forest" and it's not the same hole. The one I went to was better. It had a HUGE waterfall. It was a high, wide curtain you could stand behind and not be seen. I'd love to find it someday.

My friends and I took a trip to Blue hole in Normallville and were shocked to see that it was blocked off. As we were hanging out on the side of the road a man stopped he said he owns the campground and that you can pay $5 for the day and $20 for campground for overnite. My friends say that it is soo beautiful down there i am looking forward to seeing it.

Yes. The real name is Creek Falls on Jacobs Creek PA. I returned there after about 30 years. Its still there. Lots of glass so shoes are a must. Still well worth the trouble. Coming from RT 51 turn in to Perryoplis drive straight thru town, thru the one lane tunnel and over the one lane bridge over the Youghaghenny river, thru Layton, follow the signs for the golf course. Its not far past the Golf course. Make a Left at the Black train bridge. Dirt/gravel road follow down to the hunting club/1st train tressel. climb hill and follow the train tracks to the falls. its about 1/4 mile past the 2nd train tressel Go to YOUTUBE and pull videos from nflsteelers123 or try a4wa1g for some cool vids or email me for pics. @ gotobednonono@yahoo.com
