Again, this policy will make it easier for a rogue terrorist to get closer to were the planes are boarded with very little gain. Most of the people without tickets going through security will be people meeting passengers and that one terrorist. The people going to the airport to shop will be negligible in number. Why not implement a system where the people meeting passengers get a pass similar to the boarding pass? This policy is just asking for trouble with little gain. Why soften security with little benefit from doing so?

-A $99 airline ticket is not going to dissuade a rogue terrorist.

-A system where a pass is required is exactly what they are doing! Everyone goes through security.

If the issue is a rogue terrorist gaining access to the planes the issue would be with the security screening itself. That's a whole different topic.
