Pitt had to come back against Duke. Duke a team you should not have a problem with if you are any good.
It is abundantly documented and understood that Pitt is not a good team this year. Duke is hardly a great team either, but Pitt has played some good teams this year.

Why is every week like Groundhog Day? This wasn't going to be a good year. It won't be good.
The year should be used to develop for next year.

Because they won’t be good next year either.

This is as good as it's going to get because of the declining numbers of PA football players, Pitt's lack of football tradition (Pitt Stadium should have never been torn down), and too much competition from WV, Penn State, and Ohio State for out of state players. Narduzzi is doing the best with what he has.

agree with this for the most part.

they have more tradition than pretty much any team not notre dame though, so that 100% wrong.

Penn state and notre dame getting back to elite status will actually help pitt, psu isn't going to take the really good local players anymore if they can fill their roster with true elite national prospects, which appears to be the trend.

The state participant numbers just aren't there to bring in a lot of talent. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a rapid increase in the amount of PA high schools ending their football programs. Pitt might as well drop down to FCS football if they are going to depend on local players for wins.

no doubt the local talent is overrated for years now. still some really good players here though, you have to consider there are more wpial recruits going to FBS every year than the entire state of west virginia has had in the past 20 years combined. (which is a main reason wvu never got considered by sec or acc, but i digress).
its still a good area, just nothing like tx, fl, ca, ga.

but they aren't counting on local talent.
pitt took more florida kids than pa kids last year.

Again, this wasn't going to be a good year. It won't be good.
The year should be used to develop for next year.

Developing is for the pro teams. College teams have to consistently recruit for each year. Pitt had a good game against Virginia, and Pitt should beat UNC. Last two games, VT and Miami probably should be written off.

Penn State lost a heartbreaker to OSU. Might ruin PSU's chances at a National title. I'm feeling better.

Crazy game.

Texas A&M is supposedly going to pursue James Franklin. Should be interesting.
