Can someone kindly suggest places to donate good used furniture, namely wood dresser drawers and dining room table and chairs? There are mid century-ish I guess. Nothing spectacular but not bad. Hoping the organization can pick it at my residence. Thank you.

Salvation Army. Or flood victims if you can find a way to do that. I thinks the Veterans have a truck as well.

You can try this: https://pickupplease.org/pittsburgh/

They serve Vietnam vets in Pittsburgh. Also, the Braddock Free Store. But I think you'd have to drop-off.

Vietnam Vets will pick up only what their one driver can carry by him/herself. So if it's a small end table, they can take it, but not a chest of drawers.

I think the REd White and Blue Thrift store on 51 will pick things up.

A great place to donate furniture is Sister's Place in Clairton. They have picked up a lot of different pieces from my house over the years. They rent a truck and try to concentrate on one area at a time for pick up. Not sure how far into the city they will go for pickup.

Sister's Place does some super good things for unwed mothers in the Mon-Valley area. Great organization to help out with used furniture, labor to rehab apartments or financially.

Although not in your area/service area, I included links to give you an idea of what to look for in your neck of the woods. I have donated furniture to both, and the experience was very positive.

CHAPS

As mentioned Salvation Army will pick up furniture in good shape, and as also mentioned The Vietnam Vets usually won't... I have donated a TON of items to VNV, and I think all they would take from me was an end table or so, but if you help the driver he may take more. Good luck.

Habitat for Humanity has ReStores that resell donated household items -- furniture, appliances and all kinds of building materials. You can do a zip code search to find a store in your area. In my area a truck came and picked up my appliances.
