Yeah thats also a good point on walking, look around most people are not in the shape to be walking 1/2 mile to and from. They should but still it would take them much longer and likely not reasonable until they were in shape. Also some people like my kids have foot problems so walking on hard pavement daily like that is not great.

[quote=tyovan4;55768831This forum was bullish for a longtime about Troy Hill. That neighborhood is a heck of a lot more isolated than the Hill. [/QUOTE]

Apples and oranges. Troy Hill had/has nowhere near the reputation the Hill has. Just saying Hill District to some people will put ideas in their head, right or wrong. Kind of like North Side, which still seems to instill fear in people and it's not justified. For the Hill to gentrify it may have to be rebranded.

Yeah very true, coming to visit here my entire life most of my family which lives over Crafton area always talked (and still does) of the Hill Dist as the worst place to go, if you took a wrong turn you were done and they were right next to Eliiot. They also talked similar of the North side (not as badly) but now that I live here just west of the city I've been down the north side plenty and my mom used to work for a bank there, I never felt unsafe. Lots to offer there, I wouldnt live there but only because I like more rural. If my wife and I both liked more urban I would maybe look around that area.

When I saw the proposed plans for Mt Washington whenever they came out I actually thought of that episode.
