Mine is Kulak at Hop Farm. It is currently on nitro. This is a huge Russian imperial stout so be careful. It is my favorite.

Sounds like a real beer.

Every brewery I go to these days is full of cereal stouts and sours and fruity crap.

Brewers are losing focus on brewing BEER. Every brewery should have a house stout, lager, blonde, etc where we just taste the beer.

8% ABV isn’t a big deal. There’s macros with that much alcohol.

I like East End Fatter Gary Imperial Brown Ale when available.

I love the Penn Brewery's Gold (lager) and both Pilseners. I drink a fair share of Ales/IPAs/stouts, etc. But I will always love and probably drink the most of lagers and pilseners - when they're fresh. The Penn does lagering better than nearly all of the micros I've been to (many or most do not even offer true lagers IMO, and even fewer attempt pilseners.) And that old brewery they've got - absolutely awesome. I never miss it when I'm in Pittsburgh.

I really, really liked the stuff at Draii Laag before they rebranded as Strange Roots and went more "mainstream." Which makes sense, because wild ales/sour ales are my favorites. I mean, I've had okay stuff there since then, but nothing quite as good.

The best local beer I've had recently was at Spring Hill Brewing. They had a smoked beer the other week which was pretty incredible.

I would say penn gold on the north side and straub from st Mary’s pa.

We have some great breweries in West Virginia. This is year 5 or 6 for mountaineer brew fest in downtown wheeling at heritage port. All West Virginia microbreweries are there. Wheeling brewing company and mountain state brewing company is good. Come own down and buy tickets to check it out. It’s gotten bigger each year.
