People in Pittsburgh are very racist,i used to live in pittsburgh a while back and the people there are very racist if you are hispanic or have an accent,even thou i don't look hispanic , people automatically think you are Mexican or eat tacos,they act like there isn't another world outside of Pittsburgh,just because you have an accent and are hispanic doesn't mean you are an illegal alien and having an accent doesn't mean you don't speak English,i'm a U.S. citizen,that's one of the reasons why the area isn't growing and they have no job growth,and they have too many taxes,the people there have a redneck mentality,ill never visit pitssburgh again nor would i recommend anyone to move there.

people are racist everywhere...just because you experience racism somewhere doesn't mean that everyone there is racist... and it doesn't mean that because you didn't experience racism in wherever else that people aren't racist there.

Yes, they are. Not all of them, of course, but a lot of people in the 'burgh tend to be racist. I'm thinking that you might want to work on your grammar and writing skills, however.

Yes, Pittsburgh is kinda racist but nowhere near as racist as alot of other cities in america. Not to make any excuses for any racist people or even slightly racist behavior, but there are very little hispanic people in Pittsburgh and some people might not be really racist, but just not really educated on how to interact with hispanics. Being a minority myself I noticed that people who live in primarially white area there whole life they seem racist when they really aren't it is just lack of experience with other races and when that happens they go on what they see on tv like "all hispanics are mexican, they all like tacos, all illegal immagrants, all men are gardeners or laborers, and all the women are maids", or "all blacks are uneducated, all black males are thugs, all black women are single parents, all blacks are poor, all blacks speak ebonics all the time, all blacks like to eat chicken for every meal of the day." or "all asians are chinese, they all know karate, they are all budist, they all are extremely smart, know somebody who owns a nail shop, and eat fish all day." Some people are just really racist, but others we need to just try to bare with and slowly teach them about different cultures without getting frustrated. But I do understand your pain.

The Kansas City has far worse racial issues than western PA. Dorian is correct! You are dealing with ignorance more than anything. We all are ignorant about one or more cultures. How many hundreds do we have on the planet?

Sheesh, tacos are just as "American" as pizza, hamburgers, hot-dogs (i.e. frankfurters), or any other formerly-foreign food. Taco Bell is as popular as any other fast-food place. Being "accused" of eating tacos is just silly. I'm of German ancestry, and if someone told me "you must eat hamburgers and hot-dogs because you're German" I'd just laugh at the silliness of the comment. I don't think it would get to me.
