Hey guys!! Sorry i haven't been in touch I am just driving and driving some more. we have been all over driving up and down streets in Avalon, Ben Avon, West View, Dormont and Mt Lebo. These are our favorite areas as it stands. We have narrowed it down to 3 houses so far. My favorite is a couple of blocks off Wasington in Mt Lebo. I really love the brick street and how close it is to the cute little downtown. We have noticed that the Mt Lebo cops are like storm troopers. They had this woman (with a kid in the passenger seat) pulled over (one cop car) and there were two walking cops running up like it was some kinda drug bust or something. I guess that is why it is so sage to live there but they seem a bit gung ho
Anyway, we talked to nothing but the most pleasant people since we have been here. Anytime we mention we are moving here the response is not "Why?" but welcome. A couple of folks have mentioned the cold but not once has anyone put down on the city or seemed incredulous. We asked amailman that was walking up a giant hill in Dormont if he had noticed any rental houses on his walk and he stood there and talked to us for several minutes. Everyone has just been very welcoming.
Well, we are off to drive some more. Let me tell you. i am thinking very seriously about selling my car. It has a standard transmission and I am not real syked to drive this town in a 5 speed. Anyone out there wanna buy a little Saab convertible

Is that winky to indicate people that claim Pittsburgh's weather is bad are full of it? If so, just look it up. The weather in Pittsburgh is rather objective really.

huh? The summer is the wetest season both in terms of humidity and rain. It is the time with the most sunshine though.
Regardless, you can hardly judge an areas weather within a few days. Really, I don't even understand all the conversations about weather. Its all factual and its all on city data. It rains quite a bit, its very humid in the summers and its usually cloudy, particularly in the non-summer seasons.

Yes, I guess I mis-spoke. It is the season with the most sunshine, but the month with the least rain is October. Summer rain is generally in the form of thunderstorms, rather than all-day rain like you get in other seasons. That is my recollection anyway.

Yeah, I'm sure if you measured the amount of time it was raining instead of the inches the summer would be the dryest in terms of rain.
I remember the first time I saw the rain in Pittsburgh, It started with a little thunder and it poured more than I've never seen before. You get fully soaked in less than a minute of being in it.

Just an aside, but I think the weather arguments occur because people aren't careful about distinguishing between the facts and evaluations. The facts are indeed what they are, but when people then start selecting particular facts in support of their evaluations, they are no longer simply reporting facts.
