Agreed. Too many atypical things happening now too, locally and nationally, for estimates to be taken seriously. We're a long way off, but I expect the 2030 census to show this decades estimates to be way off in most places.

Yeah but a state like Florida is just a retirement home. Old folks like yourself going there to pasture.

At least you admit it.

Lol. Your state of WV is older than Florida, with PA only 2 years behind WV…and folks like me come to live in paradise for 5-7 months a year while it’s still snowing in the states folks are leaving in droves and coming to Florida.

I don’t know how old you are, but my guess is significantly older than 50 and pushing elderly status. Many younger conservatives aren’t even close to aligning with your thought process and how you post.

You are the minority and a dying breed.

Much like most all your predictions you’d be wrong, but I’m flattered that you think about me so much, and always love the assumptions.

Nah, the red wave of folks that think like me are coming and will be greatly enjoying Christmas in November and December this year.

As to the topic at hand, all areas have to do is make themselves more desirable by looking at what works in other areas. So much can be learned and one can greatly prosper by the numbers of what does and doesn’t work.

Some rural PA counties seem to be losing 1,000-1,500 residents annually. Ouch. At this rate I may live to see the day when Cambria County, Blair County, Fayette County, and many other Western PA counties totally collapse socioeconomically. Tiny Cameron County, PA will be dipping below 4,000 residents before long.

They're not, and the last two decennial Censuses have proven that they're not.

Since the census is used to allocate House seats, it's much more likely the census numbers are inaccurate rather than the yearly estimates.

That makes no sense. Do you know how the estimates are done? It's easy for them to be off and once they're off, each following year, it likely gets more off track.

I’d throw Westmoreland and Beaver into that discussion as well. There is no future for these places. Limited economic opportunities available and the old people that aren’t dying yet are leaving and moving to Florida.
