My daughter is in elementary school. I've been researching for weeks, trying to find any local children's art shows or art exhibits during the summer but I can't seem to find anything.

We're looking for a public show or exhibit where she can display her work.

We currently live in the Monroeville/North Huntingdon/Greensburg vicinity.

Is anyone involved in or does anyone know of anything like this in these areas or anywhere else in the Pittsburgh region? Even some ideas of where to start (local art leagues or clubs) would be great!

Thanks in advance!

I don't have any specific ideas, but the Children's Museum would be a good place to direct your question.

Don't know about the first two areas... but in Greensburg and Latrobe, most exhibits include works of the local Art Club members.
She would have to be a participating member to be included.

I didn't think about the Children's Museum. I have noticed that every time we go in, there seems to be some sort of partner exhibit with the local schools.

And I've looked at some of the local Art Clubs and Art Leagues and can't really seem to come up with anything. Maybe I'll start calling around.

Thanks for all your help!

You may want to look into Shadyside's Center for the Arts on Forbes Ave. They have classes for kids and probably ways to show their work as well. Other than that I'd look in the Post Gazette weekend mag section (Thursdays) or the City Paper for Calls for Artists. Best of luck.
