Agreed, but it does look like some of the East suburbs may be an exception.

By the way, here is a little writeup:
|
What do you expect the writeup to say? The food is about as Mexican as taco bell? Reviews of Fajita grill are pretty bad, but Mexico city seems to get pretty good reviews (here I have in mind customer reviews on sites like yelp). I never tried Mexico city but the food sounds more like the Mexican food from the more desert regions of Mexico.
Regardless, Pittsburgh isn't a good place to get Mexican food.

While these places are more diverse than some of the Pittsburgh burbs, they are still 87%+ white.

I don't know anything about Mexican food but Three Amigos just opened near me where an Eat n Park used to be. I found some user reviews that rave about it and say it's authentic. Have any of you eaten there? I think it's a local chain of 3 or 4 locations. Here are some reviews

And it still doesn't change the fact that the over-whelming majority of Black folks in the Pittsburgh area are concentrated in just a few places.

You know the focus on whether something is "authentic" or not isn't very important. Americanized Mexican food can taste rather good, one should just not mistake it for Mexican food. I think "Oriental Express" on Forbes is rather good, but its not particularly authentic.

Almost anything we think of as "Chinese" food was invented in the United States.

Sure, but you can find authentic Chinese food in many areas of the country. Pittsburgh wouldn't be one of those areas.
Anyhow, from my experience if you walk into a Chinese food place (or Mexican food, etc) and you see a bunch of white people then its unlikely to be authentic. In fact it can be a bit awkward to walk into an authentic place.

Yeah, I was agreeing with you. Just because a place isn't "authentic" doesn't mean the food isn't good.
