I like my amber-ish lagers. Does anyone have any recommendations besides Yuengling, and the acquired taste of Iron City? Which I have acquired and do enjoy, though it makes for a killer hangover.

If you like German-style lagers, The Penn Brewery (North Side) might be the ticket for you.

The PENN BREWERY - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Est. 1986 (broken link)

I was just at the Hagerstown (MD) Craft Beer Tasting event, and I was surprised to see Penn present. I believe their dark lager is well-respected.

I prefer ales, but hey, it's all good. Cheers!

Thanks, I'm planning on being at Penn Brewery next month with a few friends that now live out of the area.

So by way of background I am also much more of an ale guy. However, if you like Yeungling and are looking for more Pennsylvania beers in a similar style, you might check out Pocono Lager and Straub Special Dark.
