Well I think the Italian immigrant are dying off (which makes sense since European immigrants aren't oppressed nor are flocking to this country anymore) Pittsburgh's Italian blood (and there is a lot, statistically) has largely been assimilated across the metro. If you are looking for AUTHENTIC Italians (not Italian American's) and a sort of congregation that sticks together in a "Little Italy" you may have to look elsewhere, those days in Pittsburgh are mostly gone. We still have a "little Italy" but it is mostly symbolic, now.

However, the descendants are still around. That be me!

There are MANY nice places to live in Pittsburgh, you will have to be much more specific.

Move to Morningside or Bloomfield! Both great Italian neighborhoods close to downtown, universities, shopping, etc.

We are all Italians, most are just wannabees! It seems most of the older Italian communities are in the less desirable parts of town. Not so much from crime, but to lower incomes and run down aging communities. Once the mills left town, those communities that flourished from them kinda dried up. The North hills is pretty affluent, Washington county has low taxes and great real estate values, avoid the east hills like the plague. If money isn't a problem, go to Fox Chapel or Sewickley.
