Question Plum vs. Kiski schools?

Hello--

I am looking to buy a new house and move, and am torn between two areas --- Allegheny Township and Plum. The reason being, there are some nice houses in Plum, and some nice houses in Allegheny Township. Allegheny Twp is closer to our families, but further from work. I am concerned over the school districts however --- I hear lots of nice things about Plum schools, but not too much about Kiski area schools. Can anyone give me some advice?

Currently we live in the New Kensington area.

Thanks!

LOL. To be perfectly honest PAgirl2020, I imagine Plum and Kiski are very similar. They both pull from fairly rural communities. I've always heard decent things about both school districts, and I know Kiski has a phenomenal band/music program.

I am not entirely intimate with either district, but I don't think you'll really go wrong with either one.

I will say one more thing, though. Plum is in Allegheny County and Allegheny Township is in Westmoreland County (believe it or not). So if you move to Allegheny Township your taxes will be considerably lower, if you care about such things!

Thanks for the input!

When I was looking at real estate however, there was a eneighborhoods link, it rated Kiski as 5th percentile national and state. Plum was rated much higher. I'm not sure what to go by --- personal opinions from people vary -- those in Plum say Plum is great and Kiski sucks, and vice versa.
