He had a BF address, but actually lived in Patterson. His daughter went to Blackhawk H.S., and my dad was his optometrist. Every time I see those trademark glasses, I think of my dad.
Haha!!! Donnie Iris was just over here in Ohio (Niles) for our Mahoning Valley Rib Burn Off. Guess you guys missed him!

Dick Groat, Pirates short stop, 1960 MVP of the league. I own his 1960 game jersey. It's signed by Mr. Groat and hanging in the HJ Heinz History Center on Smallman St. in The Burgh. Go check it out if you get a chance. There is the story of how I acquired it years ago with the jersey.

Myron Cope. Art Rooney Sr. Frank Holtz "The Fighting Cop from Carnegie"(wrestler in Bruno's days)

And so was industrialist Andrew Carnegie, right? And Dick Powell, leading man in the movies from the forties was from East Liberty.

Carnegie was born in Dunfermline, Scotland, but he eventually settled in Pittsburgh.
