Ok, it's a deal. (I didn't know he was from Pittsburgh, but right is right), and I guess right along with him we have to take that other Bush disciple. Actually, a vast improvement on what we had, but Robert Gates, current Secretary of Defense grew up on the North Side, graduated from North Catholic High and Duquesne University to boot.

She wasn't born in this state, but yes, she spent her childhood up until her music career in Pittsburgh and attended North Allegheny.

She shed a few tears at her concert in Pittsburgh last year (two years ago??) because she said Pittsburgh is the only city that she can guarantee that her mom is in the audience and that it was good to be home.

If I'm not mistaken he was a kid when he did; though I could be wrong.

Also, can't see why the late Senator John Heinz, originally of ketchup fame, shouldn't qualify.

I think she lived in the Rochester area. I believe Dennis Miller is from Pittsburgh. And Mr. Rogers!

Default More semi famous people from Pittsburgh

Well, these were athletes, but still famous in their own right. Terry Hanratty is from Butler. Sean Gilbert is from Aliquippa.

Trent Reznor (NIN) is from Mercer (close enough to count). He's not an professional athlete .

George "Doc" Medich (born December 9, 1948 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania), was a former professional baseball player who pitched in the Major Leagues from 1972-1982. His nickname stems from the fact that during his early baseball career he was a medical student at the University of Pittsburgh. While in college, he pitched for the Pitt baseball team and played tight end on the football team.[1
