I can do without him. You know, I'm pretty sure he was an AM radio DJ in Pittsburgh when I was a kid, KQV, I think it was. His name back then is right on the tip of my tongue, I wanna say Terry somethin', but it's fading on me. That's gonna drive me nuts, 'cause I remember laughing when I'd heard that a few years ago, that this was the same guy who used to play David Bowie and Led Zeppelin and Sly and the Family Stone every night from six to ten. I think he got some bad acid.

Can you do anything about Dennis Miller?

I wish I could. He's a native, though.

I've listened to Rush Limbaugh for over 15 years, and maybe agreed with him once in that time. I'd rather hear people I strongly disagree with, for some reason. I guess I like to feel my blood boil. His name was Jeff Christie.

Man, how d'you know that?

Don't tell me he readily admits to it!

An afterthought; your mentioning that you've agreed with Rush maybe once in 15 yrs. gives me an idea that it might be interesting to do a thread on here some time, the thrust of which would be, for those of you who would describe yourselves as leaning right politically, socially, what commonly accepted left wing ideas do you hold? And the same question of course for us liberals... might force us to find some common ground despite ourselves.

I've always listened at work..it's better than nothing, and he mentioned the name the other day. Seems to have fond memories of Pittsburgh. Also, regardless of politics, the dude is a master broadcaster, and even more impressive for being almost completely deaf. But once again, the polar opposite of me politically. I just can't bring myself to hate him, unlike Sean Hannity, who sucks all around.

I would consider myself an open-minded libertarian, meaning do what you want and leave me alone, government-wise. The way that works out is that I'm usually annoyed almost equally by "liberals" and "conservatives" although if you held a Constitutionally-protected gun to my head, I'd have to side with the liberals for ideological reasons most of the time.

Pat Buchannan is a guy I like. He seems to speak from the heart with no real agenda other than his own. The Fox guys on the other hand, driven by Rupert Murdock's agenda, (not even a friggin' American this guy that's fed dissention in this country to such an extent), I have a strong hunch that they are, the lot of that network, capitalist opportunists, and when the political tide turns in this country, to the point that they can't price their ad-space where they need-to to be profitable, they'll change their colors pretty bleepin' fast.

Pat Buchanan can be entertaining but ideologically he's one of the scariest and most dangerous people in America. I'd much rather have a President Limbaugh if it came down to that. Pat Buchanan would give us a long-threatened theocracy.

I agree with him on some things. I read one of his books. He called this Iraq thing when the entire right side of the country was gung ho behind it. And, contrary to what a kneejerk liberal would say, I think it's insane that we have tens of millions of illegal aleins in this counrty, a good bit of them right here in L.A.

Yeah, I agree with him on the war, and I don't have a huge problem with ejecting people from the country who are here illegally. It would happen to me if I sneaked into Denmark, or say, Canada. I'm totally for making it a LOT easier to legally immigrate here though...there's plenty of room.

Jay_F is on a distinguished road
As an aside, I am fairly certain Pat Buchannan's wife is from Charleroi, and Howard Fineman is from Pittsburgh.

Howard Fineman, great call, a guy whose take on things I always find instructive and affirming.
