We just returned from our "vacation" to Western PA and we drove by Shadyside the other night - we used to live there before moving 5 years ago.

I was surprised to see Pottery Barn and Williams & Sonoma were no longer there (although it took me awhile to realize those were the two stores that had been replaced!).

When did they leave Walnut Street and why?

As far as I knew they were still there. According to both places websites, those locations are still listed...

WILLIAMS-SONOMA SHADYSIDE
5514 WALNUT STREET
PITTSBURGH, PA 15232
(412) 688-9220

POTTERY BARN SHADYSIDE
5520 WALNUT STREET
PITTSBURGH, PA 15232
(412) 683-1960

What were they replaced with when you drove by?

They're both still there. Maybe you were on the wrong street?

Thanks! I must have missed them while driving by! What used to be the Apple Store then?

The Apple Store used to be the Gap, which moved down the street into a new two-story building. Pottery barn and Williams Sonoma are very much on Walnut Street.
