Oakmont taxes are so high you might not be able to afford the bus.

Personally, if I were commuting Downtown by bus on a regular basis, I might look for something in Pittsburgh's East End over Oakmont, specifically neighborhoods serviced by the East Busway for express service to Downtown.

That is because the way the express bus routes work from Oakmont is that you are taking around 30 minutes to get from Oakmont to the East Busway in Wilkinsburg. Meanwhile, in the East End there are some neighborhoods right on the Busway, and others served by express bus routes that only take 5-10 minutes to get to the Busway. So, you would be adding quite a bit of time to your daily bus commute by living out in Oakmont.

Of course maybe that is a tradeoff worth making (I don't know why you are looking at Oakmont), but that was my immediate thought knowing the bus system.
