Default Primary Care Physician

I've been in Pittsburgh since the beginning of the year, and the one thing I can't seem to get a good recommendation on is a primary care physician or family practitioner. I'd like a doctor willing to spend time with his/her patients to learn their medical history and work out a medical plan. I'm tired of doctors treating the exam room like a fast food joint (pop in, quick look over, pop out).

So, does anyone have a really good doctor they'd like to recommend?

Mike Finikiotis in Squirrel Hill....he's the best, but not sure if he is taking on any more patients. He is so busy. He's the PCP to 1/2 the doctors/nurses at UPMC (that's how good he is!)

Mark Guy westview family practice 412-939-3090. Should be a reasonably short drive from the northside.

Pine Hollow Medical Associates is a great place. Their docs are wonderful. They are in the West Hills, in Robinson on Church Hill Road off Steubenville Pike, only 10 minutes from the west end near town. From my experience, as well as my neighbors, these docs really listen and care about their patients. And they are willing to work with you if you have a problem. It took me a long time to find them and now I wouldn't go anywhere else.

If you are still looking for a PCP. My office is kind of convenient we're located in Oakland. That may sound scary but, how many doctor's offices offer free parking. The Dr. That are looking for new patient are Dr. Lipinski, Dr. Billeh, and Dr. Burns. You can look it up. UPMC.com and click find a Dr. Give me a name and I'll research them for you. Let me Know.
