The Duquesne Incline sells memorabilia at the top station house. I'm sure there's plenty of stores around town that sell stuff like that, I can't really think of any off hand though other than the Duquesne Incline.

I'm actually looking to take a s***pot-ful of pictures and try to piece together some kind of book on Pittsburgh, since it's such a photogenic city to begin with (no, seriously--- it is!!!!!).
Where might be some great shots, that have NOT already been beaten to death by every other photographer in the Tri-State area???? Places where I could get unique pics of stuff that's both meaningful to the natives, and of interest to the outlanders????

You know, I actually haven't noticed more black and gold than usual.

The grass is always greener...
Cleveland has many good things to recommend it, not the least of which is that the downtown streets and sidewalks are wide, meaning that you can support outdoor dining in good weather. In downtown Pittsburgh, the streets and sidewalks are much narrower so that this is practically impossible except in specific areas such as Market Square.
The Strip District is somewhat similar to your West Side Market though there is less competition and, I feel, the prices are better in Cleveland. In fact, when I travel there I always make sure that travel includes a stop at the West Side Market with Ohio City Pasty and Pierogie Palace as top destinations.
In Pittsburgh, surprisingly, the waterfront is far less accessible than in Cleveland. That is probably because most of the riverfront property was home to industry and is now held by speculators interested in holding on until there is top dollar to be made.
The downtown area of Pittsburgh has a much smaller footprint than Cleveland which lends to the feeling that it is "busy", aka New York. But weekends in the City can be close to dead and there is practically no nighttime shopping as the downtown no longer supports many department stores (but then, Higbees and Halles aren't in downtown Cleveland, anymore).
Pittsburgh has many stunning vistas from the surrounding hills, but Cleveland has Westlake which compares, though is not as close. Pittsburgh has many good restaurants but there are many good and even excellent restaurants in Cleveland, as well, and I have never had better Walleye than at Pier W in Cleveland (as well as truffled tater tots).
I'd have to rate Cleveland as one of my favorite cities between Pittsburgh and Chicago and it is certainly one of my favorite day trips from Pittsburgh.
Far from being rivals, the two cities have much in common and much to offer.

And I am so pleased Pittsburgh has those narrow, Eastern-urban streets.
