I am currently thinking about moving to Mt. Washington on laclede street. I drove there and checked the place out and it seemed really nice but i thought perhaps the neighborhood might have been a little shaky. Could i get some info from people who live in the area or know more about it? Is if safe, what is the crime like etc.? How about walking around during the day/night?

I lived in Mt Washington for about 6 years, but I always lived in between Grandview and Virginia. The area around Laclede street always seemed (at least to me) to be a little seedier, houses closer together, more teenagers loitering, that sort of thing. The rule of thumb with Mt. Washington is that you want to be as close to the front of the hill as you can get.

I am looking to purchase a house on williams street with a view. Can you tell me if Mt. Washington is OK neighborhood or is it getting bad like any other neighborhood? I am concerned if there is shooting, hud, drugs ?

Thank you,
