I dont hear of people being murdered in fox chapel, sq. hill., or etc. As far as security guards --- Do I really want to be in a place where I need a security escort to get in and out of a building?

I really don't think one needs a security guard at the Waterfront. They are there if needed, but I bet the majority of people do not utilize them.
It's crazy how people think an area like the Waterfront is bad... I really don't understand it.

Oh really???? Doesn't have to be murder. Didn't a women and her child get abducted??? In Forest hills prior to the closing to admore skating rink a lot of violence after rink closed. (Officer expected to live - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review). In SQ. Hill friend of mine was robbed at gun point going to the new national city. I can keep this up all morning but, I wont. The point I am trying to make is this type of stuff could happen anywhere. STOP LETTING THE NEW DICTATE HOW BAD A CERTAIN PARTS OF THE CITY. If you never been you'll never know. Its a fact other boroughs call on pittsburgh city police to jook the numbers.

Lots of hospitals have security guards that escort employees to their cars at night. Unaccompanied persons, especially women, are at risk everywhere at night. I don't think it's an indication of how dangerous a place is.

Crime does not happen everywhere, especially murder. What a wrongful generalization. There are certain areas where crime is higher, like auto theft. Talk to your insurance man, and I am sure he will educate you as the places where you are more likely to have your car stolen or broken into.

Sure its all a gamble, but you run a higher risk of being wronged is some areas versus others. Murder is something that I dont like to gamble, meaning my life is more important to me. Either some have just been desensitized to this or even more frightening place little value on their own lives.

Yep, you're right.
I go to the Waterfront because I place little value on my life.

Yeah, I went to the Waterfront last night for the Dark Night. I was dodging past the bullets from the gangstas on horse carriages, and avoiding those Lexus and BMW thugs

The Waterfront is a safe place. No need to take Kevlar to go see a movie and have some drinks. I don't know why people try to mischaracterize areas with rash generalizations.

Oh wait, maybe I should move out of Shadyside because of all the massive murders going on there? Please, stop trying to extrapolate isolated events

Which part of the city do you live? We don't hear about most of the crimes because it isn't being reported at all.
Your right I retract the fact that I said murder happens in varies parts of the city. As I said before the waterfront problems happens in any high traffic areas. Regardless if homicide or not these things happen. I've been living in the city of Pittsburgh all of my life. I could tell you things that you don't know. This getting way off topic.
