Ghetto fabulous - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm sure you're trying to convey some sort of coherent thought or opinion, but I don't know what it is.

I agree... Most the people that touched on the subject basically based their comment off of a stereotypes. ALL black communities don't think oh Hell there was another shooting today but it normal. Who wants to stay in the house and duck bullets all day?

Ghetto Fabulous....lol.
There is nothing wrong with pointing out the absurdity of 20 inch rims on a Pontiac Sunfire....especially when we also mention the trailer fabulous.

It is a social/economic issue.Since Black communities as a rule tend to be more on the lower end of the economic spectrum, they tend to be more involved in criminal activities. It has nothing to do with anyone being racist. The sooner the black communities realize this the sooner they will be able to start solving there own problems and quit relying on the federal gov't and white people to solve their problems.35 years ago there was a beautiful shopping center on the east end of Penn hills called East Hills. It was a wonderful place to shop and was the largest center on the east coast when it was built in 1960.Then toward the middle of the 1960's the fed gov in their infinite wisdom,Thanks to Lyndon B Johnson and the great society program that was going to end poverty, decided to build low income hi-rises right behind the center.Big mistake! Most of the residents were black and impoverished.Being poor and not having much they tended to lean toward shop lifting and robbed the place blind and purse snatching was common.Needless to say people stopped going there and in 1973 or 74,two PH police officers were shot and killed by a heroin addict looking to rob a store, that coupled with the opening of Monroeville mall was the end of a beautiful place. My point is this area (Waterfront) is surrounded by a depressed community and I can almost guarantee If the shootings don't stop soon there will be tumble weeds blowing through the parking lot of the Water front.BTW: East hills is completely gone now,I mean all buildings are torn down to make way for a Wall-mart.Well, let's see how long this will last.

Anytime there is a murder its like a A-bomb going off in the communnity and surroundings areas. I dont care what people think, they all know or will know that someone was killed in this or that area. It just resonants that strongly. Have too many in one area and watch people move away. I guess in that respect we should hold the media in high regard, for they love to report on murder. But, none of it should be minimized, which was my point, its a very serious crime and social ill. And further you cant blame poverty, drugs, police or the goverment for people that choose to murder. What about their parents? Do I need to see another interview on the news with a crying mother saying what a good kid he was, and how he was applying for college right after he finished he GED?

The media tends to over-report black crime anyway...didn't a white guy at robert morris
shoot his ex and her boyfriend? and go to trial recently? since this thread is about
shootings...
As far as urban planning, I did think it was strange to see a nice new Waterfront built next
to Homestead which has fallen apart...who did they think was going to shop there?
I guess the rest of us who live in nicer neighborhoods..

Yes, he did. And the media reported it, so I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.

Homestead isn't as bad as most people think. There's some pretty cool stores in the town, and I feel perfectly safe driving and walking around.
